SheriaERP

Terms and conditions

These terms govern use of SheriaERP (the software, website, and related services operated by Systems One). They apply to firms, staff, and anyone who signs in. By creating an account, requesting a workspace, or using the product, you accept them.

Kenya Law and the Judiciary e-filing portal are official public systems. SheriaERP is a firm record. We do not lodge cases, pay court fees, or speak for the Judiciary.

1. Definitions

Firm means the law practice or legal office that holds a SheriaERP workspace. User means a person the firm authorises to sign in. Record means files, notes, time recordings, invoices, research copies, and other data the firm stores. Official source means Kenya Law, efiling.court.go.ke, and other public authorities — not SheriaERP.

2. Acceptance

Use of SheriaERP is an acceptance of these terms and of the privacy notice. If you do not agree, do not sign in. A firm administrator may accept on behalf of staff they invite. We may refuse or withdraw access where these terms are broken.

3. What SheriaERP is — and is not

SheriaERP is practice and office software. It helps a firm keep a file, a diary, a bill, and a research shelf. It is not a court registry, not a substitute for Kenya Law, and not legal advice. Research copies are as at a stated date. Confirm the current text on Kenya Law before you file or advise. We do not file in court from this product. Open efiling.court.go.ke to lodge, map, or pay. Paybill 553388, SMS 22490, and *508# belong to the Judiciary, not to us.

4. User obligations

You must keep login details safe, use accurate information, and treat client data as confidential. You must not attempt to lodge on a court system through SheriaERP, scrape official sites, or present a research copy as current law. The firm is responsible for who it invites and for what they record. Watching briefs, party roles, and court numbers are the firm’s own record of what happened — they do not change the official file.

5. Data Protection Act, 2019

Personal data on SheriaERP is processed to run the firm’s workspace: clients, staff, files, and billing. The firm is typically the data controller for client and staff records. Systems One processes that data to host and support the product. We handle personal data under the Data Protection Act, 2019 and the privacy notice. Do not upload more personal data than the file needs.

6. Intellectual property

SheriaERP software, marks, and original copy belong to Systems One. Official legislation, judgments, and court forms remain the property of their owners. A copy the firm pastes or we retrieve for the shelf is for that firm’s internal use. Do not republish official texts as if they were ours, and do not copy third-party terms (including Judiciary terms) into your own publications from this site.

7. Liability

We provide the product with reasonable care. We are not liable for court outcomes, stale research, missed listings, or anything that happens on e-filing or Kenya Law. To the extent the law allows, our liability for a claim about the service is limited to the fees the firm paid us for the three months before the claim. We do not exclude liability that Kenyan law does not allow us to exclude.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend a workspace for unpaid invoices, security risk, or misuse. The firm may stop using the product at the end of a billing period. On termination we will, on written request and within a reasonable time, export records the firm is entitled to keep, then delete or anonymise the workspace as the contract and the Data Protection Act require.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted on this page and, where practical, notified to the firm’s billing contact. Continued use after the change is posted is acceptance of the new terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Courts in Kenya have jurisdiction, unless a written contract with the firm says otherwise.
